If you plan on deploying Windows XP SP3 machines through imaging, you’ll need the updated SP3 deployement tools, which includes sysprep.exe.
Check out David’s post regarding changes to profile behavior in SP3′s sysprep where the default profile is no longer being copied. David has also updated his sysprep.inf reference.
See KB 302577 for additional details on how to use Sysprep when deploying images.

Anyway … nice blog to visit.
cheers, Chassid.
good
Looks good – once DL and open .cab the documentation has no mention of SP3 only SP2 and its last updated in 2005 – WAY b4 SP3. Have been unable to find newer info at MS
I have deployed winxp sp3 with the old sysprep tool. So this is not nessecary.
gsts-
Just because you can use the old sysprep doesn’t mean you should.

gsts – I don’t know how you did an uninstallation with the old Sysprep tools when clowing an SP3 image. Didn’t work for me. You must have the magic touch.
